TaylorSmith Sustsainable Construction is a design-build construction firm that specializes in small homes and accessory dwelling units. We're aimed at integrating the most environmentally practical technologies by working as a team to address design issues in the pre-construction stage to help mitigate constructability conflicts and waste during the course of the build.

MILESTONES

We run a goal-oriented team to ensure we’re accountable and true to our values. For us, it’s not enough to put up a website that says we practice sustainable and responsible building, we actually measure and hold ourselves to that standard.

RESEARCH

We’re not the scientists, but we appreciate those who are. It’s our priority to stay up to date on new materials, recycling technologies, sourcing options, design methods, and longevity and performance of building products.

GROWTH

At the nexus of our goal-orientation and up-to-date relevance is growth. We take pride in being reflective and adaptive to where we are, where we’re headed, and how we’re going to get there. We love to hear about new ideas and improved practices.

Taylor and Kevin first met at Oregon State University while studying civil engineering.  Each of them started their careers in the commercial contracting world gaining experience on a variety of projects ranging in size and complexity.  During their time with both of these companies, Taylor and Kevin were exposed to the often wasteful and destructive world of construction. Feeling motivated and also frustrated by common practices, Taylor and Kevin set out to start their own sustainable construction company in hopes of challenging common building practices by embracing a more sustainable and open-minded approach.
