Having lived in California for several years, this young family of Portland natives desired a life back home closer to family.  They purchased a 1950s ranch in desperate need of attention, and turned to their sister Sara Gray of Grayhaus and Ment Architecture to create their dream home.  Aside from design, resiliency, comfort, and efficiency were of paramount consideration. The home was deconstructed down to the studs, reconfigured, and endured an all electric energy retrofit with backup power generation system that is sure to withstand the test of time.
